The road to success is a straight and narrow path

The road to success is a straight and narrow path; it is a road of loving absorption, of undivided attention.

You attract the things you give a great deal of thought to. So if you give a great deal of thought to lack, you attract lack, if you give a great deal of thought to injustice, you attract more injustice.
What are your opinions guys?

Integrity - The Carpenter's House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family.

He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.  The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you."

What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that we would have done it differently.

Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

How To Use Your Enemies To Fuel Your Success

Have you heard of the phrase “at the end of the day it’s all love”? Have you watched the movie Love Is All You Need? Have you listened to the classic song Love Is All You Need from the Beatles?

While love is arguably one of the fundamental reasons why we do what we do, most of us ignored the other side of the coin. In other words, hatred is underrated.
I am not sure about you, but I’ve definitely felt annoyed whenever I walked into an environment that’s filled with negativity, gossips, uninspiring conversations, fear-driven news updates etc. It feels like such environment is poisoning our mindset, corrupting our creative potential and sapping our energy level.
Love those people anyway, be compassionate but you should stay away from these inspiration vampires as much as possible. To uplift the world, you have to be extraordinary. You have to be more than normal. You have to be more than average.
“Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
That means your standards, mindsets, emotional intelligence, productivity, work ethic, people you spend most time with, influence and impact have to be top-notched in order to create the maximum change you want. And one of the most undervalued ways to fuel your motivation and drive is to find an enemy.
Every legendary achiever in history needs an enemy to compete with.
Luke Skywalker could not have become one of the greatest Jedi in the galaxy had Darth Vader not become the evil Sith Lord. Apple could not have become such an unstoppable success had Steve Jobs not competed with Bill Gates and distinguished themselves as the pioneer fashion of arts and technology. Michael Phelps could not have acquired a record-breaking 28 medals had Ryan Lochte, Chad le Clos, Lazslo Cseh and Kosuke Hagino given him pressure of losing the lead.
Heck, even aliens have predators, Autobots have Decepticons and Frodo has Suron to compete with. Every great story, great movie, great biography will tell you that heroes always need an enemy to fight against with.
An enemy you hate gives you unlimited reasons, motivations and energy to fight back. An enemy gives you an opportunity to break through your limits, challenges and edges to become better. An enemy compels you to maximize your skills, character, hidden power and potential to conquer the world.
Your hatred is your friend. Your emotional agitation is your friend. Your enemy is your friend. They are there for a reason to make you thrive. It’s not hard to find your enemy and pick a meaningful fight.
“You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.” – Winston Churchill
For example, to me and my team, our enemies are mediocrity, scarcity mindset, sensational news, the mind-controlling media, the Wall Street that’s exploiting your hard-earned money, the status quo that you must follow a certain route to succeed.
We believe it’s misleading because with today’s level of innovative technology, we can actually design a life that give us both outer achievements and inner fulfillment.
So who’s your enemy? What are the things you hate? What heartbreaking phenomenon are you witnessing in the world that you want to change? What injustice, unfairness and wrongness do you want to stop?
Let your enemies motivate you. Let them stir your blood. Let your anger be transformed into massive positive actions. With such deep emotional drive, you’ll become a relentless fighter who beats every life challenge presented to you along the way.
Have you got any faces popped up in your mind? How are you going to utilize your enemy to motivate you? Leave your thoughts below!

Emotional Intelligence: Should Someone Always Listen To Their Heart?

While there are some people who generally listen to their head, there are others who are more likely to go with their heart. And so regardless of what outlook one has, they can believe that it is the right way to be.

Clarity

When one has the tendency to use the former, they can say that this gives them ability to think clearly. Based on this, it is going to be a lot easier for them to make the right decisions in life.

If they were to think about when this hasn't taken place, they could say that it would happen more often if they relied on their heart. There is then going to be no reason for them to change their approach.

It's Better

Yet, if one has the inclination to rely on the latter, they could talk about how this enables them to listen to a part of them that knows more than their head. Therefore, to ignore this part of them would be something that would have a negative effect on their life.

One could think about when this has taken place and it could fill them with a sense of regret. Through being this way, it is going to be seen as what allows them to make the right decisions.

A Time and A Place

At the same time, there are going to be plenty of people who believe that it is not this black and white, and that they both have a purpose. As to when one is more important than the other, it will all depend on what is taking place.

In addition to this, one could have moments when they listen to their heart and their head; with this allowing them to come to a balanced conclusion. This will show that they are working with themselves, as opposed to alienating one part and embracing another.

A Purpose

It could be said that one has these two areas of intelligence for a reason, and so it is going to be in their best interest to pay attention to them. If this didn't take place, it would be the same as having two different types of shoes and only using one pair.

One could wear the same ones all the time, but this is simply going to create a lot of unnecessary discomfort. Through putting their feet in the right pair of shoes, it can allow them to function at their best.

The Decision Maker

When one listens to what their head and their heart has to say, it will show that they are able to detach from what is taking place within them. One is then not just going to be consumed by one part of themselves.

It can then be seen as similar to what would take place if one had two friends in front of them who were giving them advice. Out of their respect and appreciation for these two people, they will take the time to listen to what they have to say.

Reflection

This could then mean that one will listen to each part of themselves and then make a decision. One could then find that they typically make good decisions and they are not going to be over reliant on one part of themselves.

Still, this is not to say that they won't be able to go with their heart and to put their ability to think to one side. As this could be something that has occurred on a number of occasions; with this being something that allowed them to respond quickly.

Instant

What this emphasises is that it can take a while for the head to make a decision, but the same can't be said about the heart. This is something that can take place without too much time passing.

And as it will already have an answer, there is going to be no need for one to use as much energy when it comes to the heart. It would then natural for one to see their heart as being superior.

Two Sides

Also, when one leads with their heart, they can be seen as being warm; whereas if they lead with their head, they can be seen as being cold. One way of looking at this would be to say that the heart brings everything together, but the head pulls things apart.

The heart is full of acceptance and love and is only too happy to give; there are no limits as far as it is concerned. On the other hand, the head is far more cautious and sees that there are limits in life.

One Outlook

If one uses their head, their outlook can be realistic, and if they use their heart, their outlook can be idealistic. Clearly, both of these ways of seeing life have a time and a place, but when the wrong outlook is utilized, it can lead to problems.

For example, the heart can be naive and see the best in everyone, and this can set one to be taken advantage of. If they have this outlook and they hold a position of power, it could cause them to inflict a lot of damage on their fellow human beings.

Blind Compassion

The heart's desire to help anyone and everyone can also lead to all kinds of different problems, and this is why it needs to be monitored. Without the heads guidance, one can end up doing more harm than good.

As while one can follow their heart and believe that being altruistic is the way to change the world; it can result in more problems. When this happens, one can end up enabling other people's behaviour, or the people they are trying to help can end up harming them as time goes by.

No Sense of Time

The heart is also focused on the here and now, and this is why one can make a decision without thinking about what consequences may arise when they ignore their head. Yet, the head has a sense of time, and this can give one the ability to step back and to think about whether they should do something or not.

Conclusion

Ultimately, one has a head and a heart for a reason, and if they don't have the ability to use both, they are going to be out of balance. Not only will this increase their chances of making poor decisions; there will also be the consequences of the decisions they make.

Is Pride Really Bad? Some Believe It To Be

On the wall of my office I have one of those great Successory Pictures of a majestic looking American Eagle with an American Flag as a backdrop. Under the picture is the word; PRIDE in bold letters with a quote: "Pride is a personal commitment; It is an attitude which separates excellence from mediocrity." I rather like that quote, and I'd like to talk to you about this topic of Pride - specifically True Pride and False Pride, because there is a huge difference.

When discussing this with a good friend, she noted that the definition and quote in my picture is "A very positive quote," and refers to what she calls; True Pride.
Now then, let me ask you; why is that so many people think all types of pride are bad? You see, some tell us that Pride is bad, and I suppose it can be for someone who overestimates their ability while an unearned ego festers inside in search of self-validation by any means possible. That perhaps is problematic. Some religions say 'Pride is Bad' and lately with all the political correctness and 'everyone is equal' motif, those with visible Pride might be called out as arrogant, megalomaniacs, or egomaniacs - indeed all of this name calling is a form of bullying, but it is coming from the Prideful Individual, rather from the politically correct brain-washed society. My acquaintance notes that False Pride is a negative, but True Pride is a good thing.

Okay so, let's look at actual definitions shall we?
Webster's Dictionary:
1.) A feeling that you respect yourself and deserve to be respected by other people.
2.) A feeling that you are more important or better than other people.
3.) A feeling of happiness that you get when you or someone you know does something good, difficult, etc.

My acquaintance notes that; #1 and 3# above are True Pride, while #2 if unearned is False Pride.

In number one, I'd ask; who is to say a super achieved person doesn't deserve respect? And shouldn't everyone respect themselves anyway? My friend notes; "Not necessarily, there are those who do feel they deserve respect and respect themselves, but under false pretenses and are living in a fantasy world, living out their lives doing harm, trying to control and exert power over others only to benefit themselves. When someone like this succeeds in controlling others they take great False Pride (hubris) in their accomplishments, but it is not something to be respected, quite the opposite."

Isn't that the point of brain washing people into believing we are all equal in every way? If it isn't why are we lying to everyone, observation shows us otherwise, should be deny our observations too? What sort of decisions would we make if we start denying all of our observations? In the second definition, it would seem to me that a feeling of superiority should be fine if it is justified, shouldn't Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps be allowed to feel superior in their sport domains? They are in fact; superior. Thus this would be an example of True Pride.

In the third Webster Definition; I believe everyone should feel happy when they or someone they know does something good or accomplishes something difficult. Again, we can mark this down as True Pride, and we see it is a positive, not a negative.

So, far in the definition as long as someone isn't lying to themselves about their abilities, I see nothing wrong with Pride from the actual definition, but let's continue this dialogue shall we?

The WikiPedia definition of Pride is this:

"An inwardly directed emotion that carries two antithetical meanings; with a negative connotation pride refers to a foolishly and irrationally corrupt sense of one's personal value, status or accomplishments, used synonymously with hubris. [Perfect example of False Pride, notes my friend]. With a positive connotation, pride refers to a humble and content sense of attachment toward one's own or another's choices and actions, or toward a whole group of people, and is a product of praise, independent self-reflection, and a fulfilled feeling of belonging [the most positive example of True Pride]."

Apparently, people need to learn the definitions and think this topic through before going around and calling anyone with Pride less than noble. There is nothing wrong with True Pride, nothing at all, there are only flawed individuals who often lie to themselves about their abilities which is False Pride.

Think on this
